Commitment and responsibility, foundational values of Invext

20 July 2020

Invext Corporation, the Royo family’s “family office,” began its journey in 2007 as a result of its members’ investment drive and with the to consolidate the legacy of their business career under the values of ethics, transparency and social commitment. Invext's mission is none other than to generate shareholder value, sustainably and in the long term, maintaining the spirit and principles fostered by its shareholders.

In this sense, Invext is the natural continuation of a business venture like that of Royo Group, now RGIB. Royo Group International Bathroom is a A story of overcoming adversity that began in 1972. the company Royo founded by Pascual Royo and his wife Mari Carmen López. Today, RGIB is the second multinational in the sector in Europe, employs 1,000 people, operates in 60 countries and generates 80% of its turnover outside Spain.

Pascual Royo and his wife, Mari Carmen López, are the pioneers of this business venture. Both embody the entrepreneur paradigm, but of the old guard, the pioneers in the field of entrepreneurship. Pascual began his journey as a labourer in a furniture factory in Valencia, but soon set up his own business with his wife with a small workshop in Benicalap. His first idea, which would later be the germ of Royo Group, was to accept commissions from individuals to build custom kitchens. In this intuitive way, one could say that the story of the business giant that RGIB is today began.

In 1971, Pascual and Mari Carmen moved the business to another, larger ground-floor premises.. It is there that they begin to dedicate all their efforts to their personal cause, producing kitchen furniture. The volume of work was starting to become significant and their first big commission was to make the kitchens for a new building with ten homes, for which they were paid 25,000 pesetas. The output produced by kitchens in Valencia and surrounding areas led to the ground floor being multiplied by four. They already had 4 workshops.

At one point, Pascual Royo thinks big and hits upon one of the keys to his future success: He's thinking of giving the business a new spin and comes up with the idea of making a very simple little bathroom cabinet.. He took a photo of it and gave it to a friend in the sector to try and sell it to shops, and it immediately yielded very good results.

In a very short time, they were presented with the following challenge: they had to decide whether to continue with kitchens or make the big decision of their business lives, which was none other than to transition from that world to that of bathroom furniture.

In the 1970s, the business grew, and Royo became a company with national aspirations that began to diversify into other assets. Later, in the 1990s, it made the international leap by expanding into Europe.

Pascual and Mari Carmen, with humble beginnings, have nurtured an international leader with the invaluable help of their children Raúl, Santi, and Silvia. Undoubtedly, the personality, know-how, and commitment of the founders have been fundamental over the years in making Royo Group the multinational it is today, specialising in bathroom furniture and equipment., considered the second largest bathroom furniture company in Europe, and the leading firm in Spain, Poland, and Mexico.
